It operates under government authority and is used to crack down on the patriotic opposition, giving out an annual report where they label us “extremist”. Now, its powers could expand dramatically. It could soon be authorized to act as a secret police force: planting fabricated data, deleting and intercepting data, bugging homes, recruiting 16-year-olds as informants, obtaining vehicle movement data from repair shops, and accessing live feeds from private (!) surveillance cameras.
